TezJet is a privately owned Kyrgyz airline founded in 2013 and headquartered in Bishkek. Although some travel databases may associate its IATA code K9 with Cambodia, the operating carrier is based in Kyrgyzstan. It developed as a scheduled operator focused mainly on linking the country’s capital with regional communities that otherwise face long overland journeys across mountainous terrain.
The airline’s principal base is Manas International Airport near Bishkek. Its network has historically concentrated on domestic routes to cities such as Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad and Isfana, with seasonal service to Tamchy for access to Lake Issyk-Kul. TezJet has also pursued selected international links within Central Asia, but schedules can change and its domestic flying remains the clearest part of its identity.
TezJet is best known for operating British-built Avro RJ regional aircraft, including the RJ85. This four-engine type is suited to relatively short sectors and airports serving smaller markets, although it is less common worldwide than modern Airbus or Boeing families.
