Lanmei Airlines
A Cambodian low-cost carrier based in Phnom Penh, focused on affordable regional services within Southeast Asia and to China.
About Lanmei Airlines
Lanmei Airlines is a Cambodian low-cost airline established in 2016 and launched commercial operations in 2017. It operates under the legal name Air Guinea and uses the IATA code LQ. The Lanmei name refers to the Lancang-Mekong River, reflecting the carrier’s original aim of improving air links among communities and commercial centres across the Greater Mekong region.
Phnom Penh International Airport is Lanmei Airlines’ primary hub and operating base. Its network has focused on Cambodian domestic services and short- and medium-haul international routes within Asia, particularly links involving China and neighbouring Southeast Asian markets. The precise schedule can change significantly between seasons, so travellers should confirm that a listed route is currently operating before arranging separate onward travel.
The airline has principally operated Airbus A319 and A320-family narrow-body aircraft, which are suited to domestic and regional sectors. As a low-cost carrier, Lanmei generally uses a single economy-focused service model rather than offering the multiple long-haul cabin classes associated with full-service airlines. Fare inclusions, checked baggage, seat selection and onboard refreshments can vary by ticket type and route.
Lanmei Airlines is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld. It therefore does not provide the alliance-wide recognition, coordinated benefits or extensive partner redemption opportunities available through those global groups. The airline has promoted customer membership initiatives, but travellers should check its current official channels for active loyalty benefits because programme availability and terms may change.
Lanmei’s main strength is its potential to provide direct, value-oriented links from Cambodia to regional markets that may otherwise require a connection. The trade-off is a comparatively small and changeable network, with fewer daily alternatives than larger Asian airlines can offer. Passengers should leave generous connection time and avoid relying on separate-ticket transfers with tight schedules.

Flying with Lanmei Airlines — what to expect
Check Route Status
Lanmei Airlines has a relatively small network, and individual routes may operate seasonally or change at short notice. Confirm the current timetable directly before booking hotels or separate connecting flights.
Review Fare Inclusions
As a low-cost carrier, the cheapest fare may exclude checked baggage, advance seat selection and other optional services. Compare the final price after adding everything you need.
Confirm Baggage Rules
Cabin and checked-baggage allowances can depend on the fare and route. Check the allowance printed on your booking rather than assuming another airline’s rules apply.
Allow Connection Time
Lanmei does not offer the broad rebooking options of a large global network carrier. Allow substantial time for connections, especially when the onward journey is booked on a separate ticket.
Expect Regional Aircraft
Flights are generally operated with Airbus narrow-body aircraft configured for regional travel. Service is economy-focused, so passengers wanting specific seats or extra comfort should review paid options before departure.

Lanmei Airlines: Excellent service for the disabled
I would like to congratulate Lanmei Airlines on their excellent service for disabled passengers. Recently I injured my right leg so I cannot walk but I needed to go to Bangkok. My flights were booked through Lanmei Airlines, which is a Cambodian budget airline… See more which does short trips within the South East Asian region. I used my own wheelchair, right to the aircraft cabin and then they stored my wheelchair in the baggage storage compartment which I later collected at the baggage claim. They did also provide a wheelchair when we landed to take me through immigration and to baggage claim. The check in staff and air crew are all very helpful, very understanding and will do whatever they to help the disabled passenger. I would like to highlight these details of their service. When we waiting for the flight to Bangkok, there was very, very heavy rain outside and they had a bus waiting for the able bodied passengers to transport them to the airplane. But those who were in wheelchairs were escorted to a driven mobile room, which lifted the wheelchair to the door of this mobile room, and then pushed the wheelchair passengers into this room. Then the driver of the mobile room drove to the aircraft, parked it right next to another door of the airplane, and then got the people in wheelchairs out. Each wheelchair passenger was then place on a another small chair-with wheels (or a very small wheelchair which also fits in the aisle of the plane). this small chair fitted in the aisle on the plane, using this chair they gently pushed each disabled passenger to their seat on the plane. This was carried out brilliantly with so much safety and protection for the wheelchair passenger, I greatly admire them for this service and they are to be commended on carrying this out with such care. I have never seen this on the international airlines and in all my years of traveling. I did not even know that such service existed. And I was allocated an excellent seat with a lot of leg room, which I did not pay for. I was able to travel comfortably. If you are flying in South East Asia with a disabled person or you are temporarily disabled, I highly recommend Lanmei Airlines. They will take good care of you!

Not bad
I booked this flight although I was worried after poor reviews. Everything actually went smooth. Check in was quick. Flight boarded on time and took off on time! It landed alittle earlier then expected too. It seemed safe enough and the plane new enough.… See more Service wasn't the friendliest though so lose a star but I'd fly again for sure!

Average, but may be the best choice
Lanmei is a low cost carrier out of China. When picking out a carrier for the flight between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, it may be the best choice. The reason for this, is that in most cases (not all), the other airlines are flying ATR-72's, instead of Lanmei's… See more A320's. What this means is that you get faster flights and more baggage allowance. For many people, that's worth it. The flight itself is quick, which is good, because the rows of seats are really crammed together. If you're a Westerner, it's likely going to feel cramped, with your knees pressed into the seat in front of you. For this short flight, the cabin crew are practically non-existent. After the flight reaches cruising altitude, they retreat behind curtains at the front galley, and don't reappear until it's time to prepare the cabin for arrival. There is no food or drinks served on this short flight, so I guess they take advantage of the opportunity to rest. The plane seemed to be in decent shape, and I didn't feel unsafe in any way. We left about 30 or 40 minutes late, which according to Flight Aware, is pretty average for this airline. I'd fly them again, if I needed to fly this route. But I'd manage my expectations when it comes to service, space, and timeliness.
