About Sky Angkor Airlines

Sky Angkor Airlines is a privately owned Cambodian carrier established in 2010 as Sky Wings Asia Airlines. It began operations in 2011 and adopted the Sky Angkor Airlines name in 2014. The airline uses the IATA code ZA and ICAO code SWM, and has developed an identity closely associated with Cambodia’s inbound tourism market, particularly travel from East Asia.

The airline’s principal operating base is in Phnom Penh, where commercial flights moved from Phnom Penh International Airport to Techo International Airport in 2025. Siem Reap has also played an important role in its network because of demand for visits to the Angkor temples. Scheduled and charter activity has linked Cambodia with destinations in South Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia and other nearby Asian markets, although individual routes can change seasonally.

Sky Angkor operates narrow-body aircraft from the Airbus A320 family, including A320-200 and A320neo equipment. These aircraft are suited to the airline’s short- and medium-haul regional network. The passenger product is primarily economy-focused, while seating configurations and available services may vary by aircraft or flight type. Travellers should confirm meal, seat-selection and baggage inclusions when booking, especially when comparing different fare categories.

Sky Angkor Airlines is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld. It does not have a widely established standalone frequent-flyer programme comparable with those of larger network airlines, so travellers should not assume that flights will earn alliance miles. Any partner benefits, promotional credits or booking-specific privileges should be checked directly with the airline or the agency issuing the ticket.

A practical strength is the airline’s direct connectivity between Cambodia and important regional tourism markets, sometimes avoiding a connection through a larger Asian hub. Its smaller scale can also be a challenge: schedules are more limited than those of major carriers and routes may be seasonal, charter-led or subject to adjustment. Passengers should reconfirm departure times, operating airports and service inclusions before travelling.

Good to know

Flying with Sky Angkor Airlines — what to expect

Check Your Airport

Phnom Penh services now use Techo International Airport rather than the former Phnom Penh International Airport. Verify the airport shown on your ticket and allow enough time for the longer ground journey from central Phnom Penh.

Seasonal Route Changes

Some Sky Angkor services are seasonal or influenced by leisure and charter demand. Reconfirm the schedule with the airline shortly before departure, particularly for less frequent routes.

Fare Inclusions Vary

Baggage, meals and advance seat selection can depend on the fare and booking channel. Review the ticket conditions instead of assuming that every economy fare includes the same services.

Airbus Narrow-Body Fleet

Flights are operated with Airbus A320-family aircraft designed for regional journeys. Cabin layout and onboard amenities may differ between individual aircraft.

Allow Connection Time

Sky Angkor has a smaller network and fewer daily frequencies than major alliance airlines. Leave a generous buffer for separate-ticket connections because protection during disruptions may be limited.

Sky Jet: Manila to Busuanga

Lest then an hour flight. The plane had many open seats which allowed me two seat together by myself and consequently the flight was nice. What complimented plenty of room was a friendly flight crew, a clean and seemingly new plane AND mostly the flight was on See moreSee less

DON'T EVER FLY THIS AIRLINE, AND IF YOU MUST DON'T BOOK ONLINE

EconomySiem Reap - Sihanoukville
I don't even know where to start I'm so mad. I tried to book a flight for my girlfriend online. The booking was one day in advance. I went to pay. It kicked me out, and canceled my flight. So I did it again. Same thing. However, they DID charge me twice, but See moreSee less

Twin Prop Jet

EconomyPhnom Penh - Ho Chi Minh City
Unexpected by myself, we found ourselves faced with a twin prop Jet, similar to regional airlines here in Australia.. I find these aircraft a little claustrophobic, and a bit squeezy... it’s only a 50 minute flight, so bearable. Staff were pleasant. No See moreSee less
