About Tarom
TAROM is Romania’s national airline and a scheduled full-service carrier headquartered in Bucharest. It was established in 1954, although Romanian commercial aviation has roots extending several decades earlier. The company remains majority-owned by the Romanian state, and its name is derived from Transporturile Aeriene Române, meaning Romanian Air Transport. It operates under the RO airline code and retains a central role in connecting Romania with major European and regional markets.
Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport is TAROM’s primary hub and the focal point of its network. The airline serves 37 destinations across 23 countries through 90 routes. Its schedule combines domestic links to cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Sibiu and Timișoara with international services to destinations including Athens, Chisinau, Munich, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Amman and Dubai. The network is particularly useful for journeys involving Romania and nearby European capitals.

Members can earn and redeem miles subject to the fare, route and programme rules, while eligible elite members may receive benefits such as priority services, additional baggage or lounge access.

The worst service
Staff are unbelievably rude. I had headphones yanked off my head during their pre-flight brief and then the same member of staff refused to serve me anything the rest of the flight or acknowledge I was there. No conversation was offered regarding the… See more headphones. She insulted me multiple times in Romanian thinking I didn't understand (I did). Bags took more than 1 hour to arrive when we disembarked. I asked how I could complain, was not given any details. The lead of the cabin crew refused to even give me paper to make some notes. I wasn't permitted the staff member's name or even a number, I was eventually told I had to complain on their website, which doesn't work. Awful service. Check in was slow, I waited in line more than 40 minutes as there was no option to bag drop if online checked in, all TAROM flights check in the same place regardless of departure. Staff are rude at all desks. My husband has flown TAROM since and was delayed more than 5 hours in London which no reason given. The TAROM website again doesn't offer any way to claim your EU required compensation for such a delay. Again, being corrupt and terrible. Well done TAROM (sarcastic)

Delay is never refunded
I used to be travelling with Tarom for almost a year and I was tolerating everything (old jets, moody stuff, delays etc), but last time when I had a connected flight from Chisinau to Budapest with the connection in Bucharest, my flight was delayed and they… See more gave me another tickets with Austrian airlines with the connection in Vienna. In the result my flight was 6 hours delayed! Because of this delay I also missed my bus in Budapest! I've applied for the refund on April 4th and they told me it would take 45 days to give me an answer. Well, now we are in mid June, still no answer even though I've texted them a couple of times. Really Tarom is far not the cheapest airlines, but definitely the worst ones.

Always delays - crew that is moody
Tarom is mostly delayed. Below average service and very unfriendly cabin crew. If there should be worked faster due to some kind of delay they don’t seem te care at all.

Don't buy Tarom.
It was assigned to us by Air France after they had changed our flights. Tarom is dirty with awful service and terrible flying conditions.

Be aware!
Let's start with the good parts: price was decent for a non-budget airline and that is about it. Boarding from Bucharest was like with any budget airline by bus although they are the national airline company and the airport has walkways. The planes are old but… See more wouldn't really matter but the trimmings inside are ....you can see in the pictures. Service inside is....absent all we got for a morning flight was a glass of water. The team inside is profesionnal but hospitality is nothing to reflect our countries true aspect. How hard can it be to smile or use a pleasant tone?? This review comes from a national and I am really sad to see this.
