About Myanmar National Airlines
Myanmar National Airlines is Myanmar’s state-owned flag carrier and one of Asia’s longest-established airlines. It began operations in 1948 as Union of Burma Airways, later became Myanma Airways and adopted its current passenger-facing identity in 2014. The airline remains government owned, while its legal name is Myanma Airways and its international designator is UB.
Yangon International Airport is the airline’s primary hub, supported by operations from Mandalay and other regional airports. Its main role is connecting Yangon with cities and smaller communities across Myanmar, including Naypyidaw, Heho, Nyaung U, Thandwe, Sittwe, Myitkyina, Dawei and Myeik. Selected international services link Myanmar with nearby Asian markets, although schedules can change.
The fleet is built principally around ATR 72 turboprops for domestic and regional flying, complemented by Boeing 737-800 aircraft suited to busier or longer sectors. Cabin products vary by aircraft and route: turboprop services generally offer a straightforward single-cabin experience, while selected jet flights may provide both economy and business-class seating. Catering and other inclusions depend on the service operated.
Myanmar National Airlines is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, so passengers should not expect alliance-wide lounge access, through-ticketing or reciprocal status benefits. The carrier has operated its own loyalty scheme under the MNA Club name, allowing eligible travellers to earn benefits within the airline’s network, though passengers should confirm current enrolment and redemption arrangements directly before travel.
The airline’s principal strength is the breadth of its domestic coverage, including routes that can substantially shorten journeys between regions where overland travel is slow. Rude staff
The staff at Suwanabuni airport at gate E10 was very rude and shouted at the passengers without any reason. Very discriminating and disrespectful.

Good and friendly service, seats not comfortable in C-class
I was a bit concerned if the airline would be up to a proper standard in Business Class but was very pleased with the service. The boarding was a bit chaotic at the gate but otherwise relaxed and easy. The service on board was very friendly and attentive. Food… See more was average though. The old-fashioned recliner seats were not very comfortable. There was a nice surprise on arrival in Yangon: They provide a personal escort service helping premium passengers with immigration and luggage and they even provide a free transfer service to the hotel. Altogether a pleasant experience.

quick good flight
Nice cabin personell and seemed to be quite a new airplane. Everything worked fine on this short flight back to Yangon.

Brilliant Airline
Loved the drama of a plane with propellers. A great, punctual and highly polished outfit. Flying as it once was. Didn't know much about the airline prior to going to Myanmar. Small in flight meal too. Would fly with them again without hesitation.

Myanmar National Airlines
I was very surprised to find it a very good flight. In spite of it being a short flight they gave cakes and sweets and cold drinks. The staff was very good. It was indeed a very pleasant surprise

One option for travel to Bangkok.
Several airlines fly from Yangon to Bangkok. MNA is worth trying among them. With MNA I could arrive in Bangkok earlier.
