HiSky
A Moldovan scheduled airline operating Airbus aircraft from Chișinău, with a network spanning Europe and a nonstop link to New York.
About HiSky
HiSky is a privately owned airline established in 2019 and headquartered in Moldova. Commercial operations began in 2021 after the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic delayed its original launch plans. The carrier serves scheduled passengers under the HiSky brand and also undertakes charter and aircraft-leasing operations. A related Romanian company, HiSky Europe, operates alongside the Moldovan airline under separate regulatory approvals.
Chișinău International Airport is HiSky’s principal hub and the centre of its Moldovan network. The airline connects the Moldovan capital with destinations across Western, Central and Southern Europe, including cities important to Moldova’s diaspora and business markets. It also operates services from Romanian airports such as Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. Its Chișinău–New York service gives the airline a notable transatlantic presence.
HiSky operates an all-Airbus fleet that includes members of the A320 family and the wide-body Airbus A330-200. Narrow-body aircraft handle most European and regional services, while the A330 supports longer routes and high-demand flights. Cabin products vary by aircraft and route, with economy seating throughout the fleet and enhanced premium or business-class options available on selected services, particularly long-haul operations.
HiSky is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, so passengers should not expect alliance-wide benefits such as reciprocal lounge access or through-status recognition. The airline has promoted its own customer account and loyalty benefits, but travellers should check the current HiSky website for enrolment, earning and redemption conditions because programme features and eligibility can change as the carrier develops.
A key strength is HiSky’s provision of nonstop flights from Moldova to major European cities and New York, reducing the need for connections through larger foreign hubs. Its comparatively small scale can also be a challenge: schedules may be less frequent than those of major network airlines, and disruption can leave fewer same-day alternatives. Fare conditions, baggage inclusion and onboard service should therefore be reviewed carefully before booking.

Flying with HiSky — what to expect
Check Fare Inclusions
HiSky’s baggage and service inclusions depend on the fare purchased. Review the allowance shown during booking rather than assuming that checked baggage or seat selection is included.
Mixed Cabin Products
Most European flights use Airbus narrow-body aircraft, while the A330 is used on selected longer services. Seat type and premium-cabin availability therefore vary considerably by route and aircraft.
Allow Connection Time
Chișinău is HiSky’s main operating base, but the airline is not part of a global alliance. Leave a generous buffer when connecting on separate tickets because protection during a missed connection may be limited.
Verify Operating Carrier
Flights may be operated by either the Moldovan airline or its Romanian affiliate. Check the operating carrier on the itinerary, especially when reviewing check-in rules and passenger-rights information.
Monitor Schedule Changes
HiSky has a smaller fleet and fewer daily frequencies than major network airlines. Reconfirm departure times before travelling and keep contact details updated so schedule notifications reach you.
