About Sunclass Airlines

Sunclass Airlines is a Danish leisure carrier whose present identity dates from 2019, when Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia was renamed following the collapse of the Thomas Cook Group. Its operational roots extend to 1994. The airline is part of Nordic Leisure Travel Group and primarily carries customers travelling with the group’s tour operators, including Spies, Ving and Tjäreborg.

Copenhagen Airport is the airline’s principal hub and operating base, supplemented by departures from Stockholm Arlanda, Oslo Gardermoen, Gothenburg Landvetter and other Nordic airports. Its network is strongly seasonal, linking Scandinavia and Finland with holiday destinations around the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, North Africa and, during selected seasons, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia.

Sunclass Airlines operates an all-Airbus fleet built around members of the A321 and A330 families, including newer A330neo aircraft used on longer journeys. The narrow-body fleet handles many European and Mediterranean services, while wide-body aircraft serve higher-demand and long-haul routes. Cabin products vary by aircraft and route, with upgraded seating options available on some services.

The airline does not belong to Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld and does not operate a conventional points-based frequent-flyer programme. Its commercial model is closely tied to package holidays rather than alliance connections or business-travel networks. Flights may be included in a tour package, although seats can also be offered separately on selected departures and markets.

Sunclass Airlines’ main strength is its specialization in direct leisure flying from Nordic cities, reducing the need for connections when travelling to major holiday regions. The trade-off is that schedules can be highly seasonal and some routes operate only once or a few times weekly. Rebooking options, onboard inclusions and baggage allowances may also depend on the fare or package purchased.

Flying with Sunclass Airlines — what to expect

Seasonal Flight Schedules

Many Sunclass Airlines routes operate only during particular holiday seasons. Check operating dates carefully, especially if arranging accommodation or connections separately.

Package-Based Allowances

Baggage entitlements and onboard inclusions can depend on the tour package or ticket type purchased. Confirm the allowance shown in your booking rather than assuming all passengers receive the same terms.

Prebook Optional Extras

Seat selection, meals and additional baggage may be available to reserve before departure. Booking extras in advance is generally more predictable than waiting until the airport.

Mixed Airbus Fleet

European flights commonly use single-aisle Airbus aircraft, while longer services may use wide-body A330-family jets. Seat layout and available cabin upgrades therefore vary by route and aircraft.

Nordic Departure Airports

Besides Copenhagen, the airline operates from several airports across Sweden, Norway and Finland. Availability differs by tour operator, season and local market.

great airline

EconomyStockholm - Antalya
Seat space is the same as RyanAir. So it's not a lot of space but still ok. The staff was super friendly and humorous. We started on time. The only real problem is that there is no possibility to buy sandwiches or pastries. You can really only buy chips or See moreSee less
