About SriLankan Airlines
SriLankan Airlines is the flag carrier of Sri Lanka and traces its origins to 1979, when Air Lanka began operations as the successor to Air Ceylon. The airline adopted its present name in 1999. It is majority owned by the Government of Sri Lanka and uses the peacock-inspired colours of the national flag in its visual identity.
