About Onur Air
Onur Air was a privately owned Turkish low-cost airline founded in 1992. Based in Istanbul, it began as a charter operator before developing scheduled passenger services under the Onur Air name. Its business model focused on competitively priced, no-frills travel, particularly within Turkey and between Turkey and selected international markets. The airline suspended flying in 2021 amid financial difficulties and subsequently ceased operations, so it is no longer available for current bookings.
Istanbul was Onur Air’s primary hub and its largest departure point, followed by Ercan, Trabzon, Mersin and Izmir. Its network comprised 26 routes serving 13 destinations across four countries. Notable cities included Istanbul, Ercan, Trabzon, Antalya, Bodrum, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Ganja, Gaziantep, Izmir, Malatya and Mersin. This gave the airline a strong domestic Turkish presence alongside a limited selection of regional international services.
The aircraft type associated with these routes was the Airbus A320, a narrow-body jet widely used for short- and medium-haul services. Onur Air also operated other Airbus types during its history, although fleet composition changed over time. The airline generally offered an economy-focused product consistent with its low-cost positioning. Fare conditions, baggage allowances, seat selection and onboard inclusions varied by ticket, with optional services commonly carrying additional charges.
Onur Air was not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, and passengers therefore did not receive the reciprocal lounge, status or mileage benefits associated with a global airline alliance. It promoted a loyalty scheme called OnurExtra, but the programme is no longer practically relevant following the carrier’s closure. Travellers holding historical account records, tickets or claims would need to consult formal legal or insolvency channels rather than expect assistance through an active airline programme.
The airline’s principal strength was its coverage of popular Turkish leisure and regional cities from Istanbul, giving price-conscious travellers an alternative to larger carriers. Its Airbus narrow-body operation was also well suited to the relatively short sectors forming much of the network. The decisive limitation is that Onur Air no longer operates: its former website, schedules and fare rules should be treated as archival, and similarly named listings on travel sites should be checked carefully before any purchase.

Not a pleasant experience.
Worst flight of my life. It has been 3 years ago by now, and I still have nightmares. The planes were held together by tape it seems, which must be the reason we're still alive. I owe my life to tape. Moist was dripping from the ceiling, and there was little… See more to no room for your legs, so if you're a tall person don't take a flight with Onur air unless you want to have back pain for the entire holiday. The staff wasn't friendly: a stewardess literally cried when the plane took off, I thought we were going to die. We had flight delays on the way to Turkey and back. The latter being a 5-hour delay due to technical difficulties. I will never take a flight with this company again, because I didn't feel safe. We didn't receive any decent food when waiting on the airfield. Cold fries with chicken isn't pleasant to eat. Also, the plane shook a lot when we took off, I've never experienced that much shaking again when taking a flight. It was scary. Never again!

Don’t fly with holiday Europe
Literally everything in this old and dirty airbus was broken and fixed with tape. We were flying in corona, none of the employees does worry about that. Furthermore the space to sit was way to limited, those who have long legs are stuck between the chairs,… See more really. Even Ryan Air has more space between chairs............. I will never fly again with holiday Europe.

Avoid Holiday Europe!
Does Corona exists on your flights? Maybe take some action! Furthermore, how old are those plains literally everything was broken is this Airbus.

Better than expected
Read bad comments about this airline. The flight was in time. I got water and coffee for free. Staff was friendly. No meals, well i did not book any. No monitors - I had my Ipad with me. The plane was clean, seats not that much space, for a four hour flight… See more just ok.

OK but no thrills Airline
After I read the previous comments I was not really looking forward to my flight. But all was OK. Departure on time. Planes OK not the newest but so what. I prefer flying with a slightly older plane that did good service than a brand new Boing Max. Twice water… See more and coffe. Nothing else. No food. Maybe they should have told at departure so people could buy food at airport. Yes leg space is minimal but for 4.5 h flight with normal body should not be too difficult. I usually fly business only but this was for a normal holiday and I did not mind at all.
