About LATAM Airlines Peru
LATAM Airlines Peru was established in 1998 as LAN Peru and began commercial operations in 1999. It adopted its present identity in 2016, when the LAN and TAM airline businesses moved to the unified LATAM brand. The carrier is a Peruvian company within LATAM Airlines Group, with its corporate structure designed to meet local ownership and aviation requirements. Although legally distinct, it operates as part of LATAM’s integrated regional network and generally uses the group’s LATAM branding, website and sales channels.
The airline’s principal base is Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru’s largest international gateway. From Lima, it links important domestic centres such as Cusco, Arequipa, Iquitos, Piura, Trujillo, Tarapoto and Juliaca. Its wider schedule also connects Peru with major South American cities and selected longer-haul destinations. LATAM Airlines Peru primarily uses Airbus A320-family aircraft, including Airbus A319, A320 and newer A320neo variants, for domestic and regional services. Aircraft from other LATAM affiliates may operate selected routes, particularly longer international sectors. Economy is the standard cabin, while Premium Economy is offered on eligible narrow-body flights with additional space and service benefits. Long-haul services operated within the LATAM network may feature Premium Business, although the cabin product depends on the assigned aircraft and operating affiliate.
LATAM Airlines Peru is not currently a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld; the LATAM group left Oneworld in 2020. Its loyalty programme is LATAM Pass, through which members can earn points on eligible LATAM flights and participating partner services. Points may be redeemed for flights and other benefits, while elite members can receive advantages such as priority services, additional baggage or lounge access when the applicable status, fare and itinerary qualify.
