About Jet2.com

Jet2.com is a British low-cost airline whose origins date to 1983, when Channel Express was established as an airfreight and charter operator. The Jet2.com passenger brand launched in 2003 with services from Leeds Bradford Airport. It forms part of Jet2 plc, a publicly listed British leisure-travel group that also owns the package-holiday operator Jet2holidays. The airline has developed a distinct leisure-focused identity built around direct flights from regional airports in the United Kingdom.

Leeds Bradford is Jet2.com's principal base, while Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh are also among its busiest departure points. Its network comprises 210 routes serving 39 destinations across 17 countries. Operations concentrate on holiday markets in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, including Alicante, Faro, Malaga, Palma, Tenerife and Arrecife. The network allows many passengers outside London to reach major resort areas without first connecting through a larger hub.

Aircraft types associated with its operations include the Boeing 737-300, Boeing 737-800, winglet-equipped Boeing 737-800, Boeing 757-200 and winglet-equipped Boeing 757-200. Jet2.com uses a single-class, low-cost configuration rather than separate business and economy cabins. Passengers can generally purchase assigned seats, checked baggage, meals and other optional services according to their needs, while the onboard product is designed primarily for short-haul and medium-haul leisure journeys.

Jet2.com is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, and its point-to-point business model does not depend on alliance connections. It does not operate a conventional mileage-based frequent-flyer programme comparable with those of large network airlines. Customers can use a myJet2 account to manage bookings and receive relevant offers, but travellers should not expect alliance status benefits, mileage earning or reciprocal lounge access when flying with the carrier.

A notable strength is the breadth of direct holiday flying available from regional British airports, particularly for travellers based in northern England and Scotland. The airline's close relationship with Jet2holidays can also simplify arrangements for customers booking flights and accommodation together. As with other low-cost carriers, however, the final price depends heavily on optional extras. Travellers should compare fares only after adding required baggage, seating and onboard services, and should check seasonal schedules because some leisure routes do not operate throughout the year.

Flying with Jet2.com — what to expect

Regional UK Departures

Jet2.com offers an extensive leisure network from airports in northern England and Scotland, reducing the need for many passengers to travel through London.

Check Fare Extras

The basic fare may not include every service you need. Compare the total after adding checked baggage, seat selection and any other optional extras.

Seasonal Route Schedules

Many services are geared toward summer or winter holiday demand and may not operate year-round. Confirm operating dates before making accommodation or onward-travel arrangements.

Cabin Baggage Rules

Cabin-bag eligibility can depend on the fare and options purchased. Check the allowance shown on your booking before departure, as oversized or additional bags may incur charges.

Single Class Cabin

Jet2.com operates a single-class low-cost product rather than offering a separate business-class cabin. Extra-legroom seating may be available for an additional charge on eligible flights.

Holiday Package Links

Flights are closely integrated with Jet2holidays packages. Package customers should check whether transfers, baggage or other services are already included before purchasing extras separately.
