Hong Kong Airlines
A Hong Kong-based full-service carrier connecting its home hub with major cities across mainland China and wider Asia, using a mix of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft.
About Hong Kong Airlines
Hong Kong Airlines is a privately owned scheduled carrier based in Hong Kong, China. It adopted its current name and began operating under the Hong Kong Airlines identity in 2006, succeeding the earlier CR Airways brand. The airline has historical corporate links with HNA Group and uses the IATA code HX and ICAO code CRK.
Hong Kong International Airport is the carrier’s primary hub and the focal point of its passenger network. Hong Kong Airlines operates 56 routes serving 23 destinations across 7 countries. Its network is concentrated in Asia, with links to major mainland Chinese cities and regional centres including Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Taipei, Bangkok and Denpasar in Bali.
Aircraft types associated with the airline’s operating records include the Airbus A320, A321 and A330-200, alongside the Boeing 737-800, 747-400, 747-400 Combi and 777-300ER and the Embraer ERJ-190. Passenger operations have used narrow-body aircraft on shorter routes and wide-body aircraft on busier or longer sectors. Economy Class is standard, while Business Class is offered on selected aircraft and services.
Hong Kong Airlines does not belong to Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld. Its loyalty offering is connected to Fortune Wings Club, the shared frequent-flyer programme used by several airlines with links to the HNA aviation group. Eligible members can earn and redeem points on participating flights, although benefits, partner access and earning rules depend on the fare and operating carrier.
The airline’s principal strength is its useful Hong Kong connectivity to mainland China and nearby Asian destinations, supported by both short-haul and wide-body capability. Its smaller network, however, provides fewer onward options than those of the largest hub carriers. Schedules and onboard products can also vary by route and aircraft, so travellers should check the operating equipment and connection time before booking.

Poor
HX610 (Hong Kong Airlines) was not good. I won't say its terrible but it was not meeting my standard. There was no enterainment system, only a bread and a drink, seat was ok, and surpisingly the cabin was very clean. As you know, Hong Kong Airrlines is budget… See more airline, so I didn't expect too much.

Wrong date, wrong price. Broken website.
Their website misrepresents time and cost of tickets. When you pick a date, it will auto adjust to the day before. Then when you contact them to correct the date, they charge roughly 100 USD to change it. Also, the website lists the cost in Hong Kong dollars.… See more When you use USD, they will charge an extra 12% without telling you until you get the confirmation email. This isn't reasonable considering that internation transfer rate is 1 to 3%. They don't respond to emails. And they won't agree to make up for losses their website caused. Please do yourself a favor and don't use this airline. If you do, keep in mind what the website shows you, is not what you will get.

Comfort in Exit row and on time
This is an airbus A-320, single aisle 3X3 seating. On this flight we paid extra for an exit row (rows 42 and 43) This was the best convenience you can have as the seats pitch is extremely tight. The width is ok, but if you do not want your knees pressing… See more against the seat in front of you, take an exit row. The flight was on time leaving and arriving. On board service was adequate for the 2 hour 30 min. flight. The sandwich served was not edible. The plane was elderly but clean and efficient. No AV system or monitors..

Male Ground staff at section K biz class counter from 630am to 830am for Hong Kong airline
Writing this review on my flight. I should have asked for his name but all this happened too fast. My travel agent in Singapore CTM should have well informed me of the PCR requirement from Hong Kong to Shanghai. This gentlemen at the counter patiently… See more explained the requirement to me as it hit me by utter surprise at 630am in the morning. He brought me to the PcR test counter in person and helped to request for a! Accelerated case, thought without success. Most importantly, the pcr test came in right at the last minute about 35 min before the flight. As I ran towards the counter, I could see the gentlemen all ready stand by waiting for me to help me squeeze the last check in. 200% applaud for his professionalism. He was wearing a mask and spec, and a well mannered genteman. Thank you thank you very much. Best regards Jie Hong

An ok flight
We flew with Hong Kong air in January. The flight was fine, attendants were fine but felt that the service was a bit slow. The food on our way to Bangkok was terrible. I had a beef dish that was almost all fat. The salad was inedible and the rest of it just… See more ok. Both flights to Bangkok and back to Vancouver had no in flight movies that were working and for a 14 hour flight, it made it very long.
