Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh. Established in 1972 shortly after the country gained independence, it is owned by the Bangladeshi government and operates scheduled passenger and cargo services under the BG airline code. The name “Biman” means aircraft or aviation in Bengali, closely linking the airline’s identity with its home country.
The airline’s primary hub is Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, with Chittagong and Sylhet also supporting important domestic and international operations.
