Mohamed V International Airport
About CMN
Overview
Mohamed V International Airport is located approximately 30 kilometres south-east of Casablanca, in the Nouaceur Province of Morocco. It serves as the country's primary international gateway and the busiest airport on the African continent by several measures. Opened in 1957, it replaced the older Anfa Airport as the region's main commercial hub and is named after the revered Moroccan king.
Terminals & Runways
The airport operates two main passenger terminals — Terminal 1 handles the bulk of international and domestic traffic, while Terminal 2 serves additional international routes and overflow capacity. Two parallel runways oriented roughly north-east to south-west support simultaneous operations. The airport runs on a 24-hour basis with no curfew, and ongoing infrastructure projects continue to expand apron and terminal capacity.
Airlines
Royal Air Maroc is the dominant hub carrier, operating an extensive network across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East from Casablanca. Air Arabia Maroc maintains a focus-city presence here. Major European, Middle Eastern, and African carriers including Air France, Iberia, Turkish Airlines, and Emirates maintain regular scheduled services.
