About SkyUp Airlines

SkyUp Airlines is identified here as a low-cost airline headquartered in Puerto Rico and operating under the legal name Prinair. A reliable founding year, current ownership structure, and relationship between the SkyUp and Prinair identities are not established by the available airline details, so travellers should confirm the operating carrier shown on their booking before departure. Its two-letter IATA designator is PQ.

The airline operates 12 routes linking seven destinations across four countries. City of Angeles is its busiest departure point by route count, followed by Davao City, Hong Kong, Kalibo, and Kuala Lumpur. Other cities in the network include Macau and Puerto Princesa. This footprint is focused on short- and medium-haul travel within Southeast and East Asia rather than service centered on Puerto Rico.

Airbus Industrie A320 aircraft are recorded on the airline's routes. The A320 is a single-aisle type commonly used by low-cost carriers for regional flying, generally with a single economy-class cabin and optional paid extras. Exact seating, legroom, meal service, baggage inclusion, and priority benefits can vary by fare or operating arrangement, so passengers should review the conditions attached to their specific reservation.

No membership in Star Alliance, SkyTeam, or Oneworld is established for this airline, and no dedicated frequent-flyer programme can be confirmed. Travellers should therefore assess fares mainly by their included baggage, seat selection, change conditions, and other ancillary charges. Any loyalty earning or redemption opportunity should be verified with the airline or booking provider before purchase rather than assumed from the carrier's name or flight code.

The airline's compact network can be useful for direct regional journeys between secondary Philippine gateways and nearby international cities. However, limited route breadth means fewer same-airline alternatives when schedules change or flights are disrupted. Passengers making separate-ticket connections should allow generous transfer time, verify terminal and entry requirements, and consider the risk that the onward carrier may not protect a missed connection.

Flying with SkyUp Airlines — what to expect

Check Operating Carrier

Confirm the operating airline, flight number, and airport terminals shown on your itinerary, particularly because the supplied SkyUp Airlines and Prinair identities may appear differently in booking records.

Review Fare Inclusions

As with most low-cost airlines, the lowest fare may exclude checked baggage, seat selection, meals, and flexible changes. Compare the total trip price after adding the services you need.

Verify Cabin Baggage

Carry-on limits can depend on the fare and operating conditions. Check the current weight, size, and personal-item rules on your booking before arriving at the airport.

Allow Connection Time

The network is small, so recovery options may be limited after a delay or cancellation. Leave extra time for separate-ticket connections because onward airlines may not accommodate a missed flight.

Expect A320 Aircraft

Recorded services use Airbus A320 aircraft configured for regional operations. Seating and onboard inclusions may vary, so consult the flight details rather than assuming a particular layout or service level.

Worst experience

EconomyAntalya - Riga
To start with, our family has flown with more than 8 different airlines in the span of 20 years, and we have never seen anything like this before. Over the course of 2 months, we flew with SkyUp airlines three times. The first two flights were to and from See moreSee less

EconomyVilnius - Hurghada
Both flight from and to Vilnius where delayed due to some airplain defect.. on almost 3hours, other 1.5h. thats not surprising when you see the airplain. Very old and loud. Note that there is no option on board to buy something, you can have only water. 5hour See moreSee less

Does collaboration with this company is a charity work?

EconomyRiga - Sharm El Sheikh
Why on earth people are having more than a 5 hour flight and airline doesn't provide any type of food? Besides the only drink they offer is water. I've never seen anything like that before. And the most absurd part is that there is not even a possibility to See moreSee less
