About Sky Mali
Founded in 2020, Sky Mali is a privately owned Malian scheduled airline headquartered in Bamako. It was established to improve air connectivity within Mali following a period in which the country had limited regular domestic service. The carrier uses a distinctly Malian identity and primarily serves passengers travelling for business, government, family and essential regional journeys.
Sky Mali’s main operating base is Bamako’s Modibo Keita International Airport. Its network connects the capital with Kayes in western Mali and the northern cities of Mopti, Timbuktu and Gao. Abidjan provides the airline’s principal international connection, linking Mali with one of West Africa’s most important commercial and aviation centres.
The airline operates a small narrow-body fleet centred on the Boeing 737-500, although its fleet composition has changed since operations began and has previously included other Boeing 737 variants and the Embraer ERJ-145. The aircraft are suited to short regional sectors, with the onboard layout and services varying according to the aircraft and fare booked.
Sky Mali is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, so passengers should not expect alliance-wide earning, lounge access or through-ticketing benefits. Its own loyalty programme is called Taama Miles. Members can collect miles and progress through status levels offering benefits such as priority services, additional baggage or lounge access, subject to programme conditions.
Sky Mali’s main strength is the direct connectivity it provides between Bamako and Malian cities that have relatively few scheduled air links, potentially saving substantial overland travel time.
