About Neos
Neos is an Italian airline founded in 2001 and headquartered near Milan Malpensa Airport. Commercial operations began in March 2002 with a flight from Milan to Dakar. The carrier is part of Alpitour World, one of Italy’s largest integrated tourism groups, and combines scheduled passenger services with flights arranged for tour operators. Its identity remains closely tied to the Italian leisure market, although tickets on many routes can be booked independently through the airline.
Milan Malpensa is Neos’s principal hub, supported by operating bases and regular departures at Rome Fiumicino, Verona and Bologna. What a nice surprise this airline was!
What a pleasant surprise! We selected upgraded economy seats which were still cheaper than other carriers. Checked bags included. These seats were in a part of the cabin with only six rows. I was greeted by a smiling staff, and a pillow and headphones waiting… See more on my seat. I was offered a choice of juice or sparking wine as I sat down. The plane was a Boeing 787 which departed on time. Hot meals with wine offered both ways with a snack before landing. Meal out of Italy of course was better than the one from New York. Movies, television, and music were offered. Service was always pleasant. Debarking at Malpensa was a breeze. Passport readers were electronic and quick. Trains to Milan were easy. There are a number of carriers that fly this route. This was the best value with a nearly new airplane. The airline is not as well known but is the second largest Italian carrier. I would not hesitate to use them on any of their routes throughout europe.

Premiere Seats on Neos.. NOT ECONOMY
We were apprehensive to take this airline since we knew nothing about them. It was hard to find really good info on what exactly to expect. We flew their premier seats. You are allowed 2 checked bags approx. 60 lbs each. We checked in on the Web Check In 24… See more hours prior with no problem. When we got to Term 1 JFK the bag drop/check in is located at area C. We easily dropped our bags and they gave us another boarding pass. We quickly made our way through premier/1st class security line. Boarding starts 1 hour prior to departure. We easily walked right through the crowd to pre board with our premier seats. The airplane was clean, new and welcoming. The premier seats had a refreshing bag, pillow and blanket. USB, large TV screen and comfortable wide seat. Your footrest comes out and you recline to a very comfortable position. It is comparable to regular 1st class not Polaris. A drink was offered while boarding. Hot towels then Dinner was served and was surprisingly fairly good. Served on plates as a first class meal would be. They serve you in 3 courses.. your salad, entree then dessert. With more beverages served. Alcohol was all inclusive.. wine and beer is what we had. The staff was very accommodating from beginning to end. But we are generally very pleased and happy people.. maybe that helps. When you arrive in MXP, expect to walk down the portable stairs and take a shuttle bus. Our luggage came out in a timely manner and we rented a car that was easily done as well. I got a tip from a blogger to go on discovercars.com. And wow.. it truly saved us a ton of money. You make your reservation on the site. Pre pay a deposit and they send you a voucher for Sicily by car. The rates were accurate and there were no problems. Discovercars.com blogger recommended taking the full coverage by them and we did. We selected it through discovercars.com. I would highly recommend NEOS premier. We paid 1000.00 round trip per person and could not believe what a deal we got. Hope this helps. I can not speak for economy class.

Terrible Customer Service- Refund for My Father's Passing
I have never had such a terrible experience as I contacted the airline for a flight refund since my Father passed away and I needed to bury him hence why I could not fly. They told me to submit a ticket online to have corporate review the request. The website… See more timed me out every time I attempted to do such. I called and emailed the NYC office and they did not assist by opening a ticket for me. At this point, I had to buy another airline ticket to return to Italy and still have no response. When burying your Father, this is not proper to put someone through. It is frankly DISGRACEFUL. I will never fly them again. I now will get an attorney in my family to send this to small claims.
