Abhorrent Airline
Our flight from Sumba (TMC) to Bali (DPS) on 2 Jul was cancelled. An email with English title and Bahasa Indonesia content was sent to us on 1 Jul. Nam Air offered us the next available flight on 10 Jul. The supposed cancellation was not due to weather or… See more closure of the airport. Nam Air simply said it's operational reasons. The ticket could be fully refunded, subject to a fee of USD 30 to transfer money to a non-Indonesian account. I would happily pay for this if I canceled the flight. Our driver and guide was supposed to pick us up on 2 Jul so we had to rearrange it with her. She was surprised as according to her knowledge, Nam Air didn't even have a flight on 2 Jul (Saturday) in the first place. When we finally arrived at the airport on 3 Jul to take another flight from another airline, we were told Nam Air's flight on 3 Jul was also canceled. When we checked Nam Air's flight the previous day, 3 Jul was sold out. The airports of TMC and DPS were open the whole day and there were flights from other airlines on the same route the same day. When I asked Nam Air's ground staff, one of them told me "we sell tickets for everyday but we don't have flights everyday". I do no know if there is case of poor translation, or Nam Air simply does sell tickets when they don't even have a planned flight.

Classic And Old
This is my experience on Nam Air. This route uses a Boeing 737 Series 500 Classic. the plane is very old, the window cover is a little damaged (it can't be closed completely), the seats are torn a lot. but for very good service, ontime.

On Time and good service
This is definitely not the best airline I've ever flown, and also not the worst. The flight was on time, with no problems checking in at all. Only downfall is that you can not check in online, you must do it in person at the airport. The aircraft was a little… See more hot to start with, but it cooled off was in the air. The flight attendants were very nice, friendly, and polite. Seats were comfortable with nothing special. Great cheap way to connect within Indonesia.

Unable to buy baggage online
Flight is on time Food is available on board Price is cheap Free 5kg baggage for sports equipment BUT..... there is no option to buy baggage online. Baggage is expensive too. 91000rp/kg !!

Try to avoid
Had such a bad experience with Nam air. First we were told that the flight was leaving a half an hour earlier than scheduled but once we got to the airport it was delayed an hour and a half passed the originally schedule time. Then, half the plane did not get… See more their luggage. We found out they took a container off the flight but load it right back up and sent it back to Bali. Our flight landed at 11:30am and we didn’t get our bags until 9pm. No one at the airport in Comodo spoke English or seem to know what was going on. Luckily the staff from Blue Manta liveaboard was able to communicate with the airline and took care of getting us our bags.
