Marsland Aviation was founded in 2001 as a privately owned Sudanese airline. Operating under the M7 airline code and MSL ICAO designator, it developed an identity as a regional scheduled carrier serving domestic communities and nearby African markets. Its operations were distinct from the Mexican cargo airline commonly known as MasAir, despite the similarity in naming and airline-directory records.

Khartoum was the airline’s primary hub and the leading departure point within its network. Marsland Aviation operated 10 routes serving 6 destinations across 3 countries. Its scheduled network connected Khartoum with the Sudanese cities of Nyala, El Fasher and Geneina, while international services reached Juba in South Sudan and Nairobi in Kenya. Juba, Geneina, El Fasher and Nairobi were also important departure airports.

Aircraft associated with Marsland Aviation’s operations included the Antonov An-24, Boeing 737 and Tupolev Tu-134. This mixed fleet reflected the requirements of short domestic sectors and longer regional services. The main challenge for travellers was the limited scale of the operation: a small route map and varied aircraft types could mean fewer alternative departures when schedules changed. Passengers were therefore well advised to reconfirm flights and connection arrangements before travel.
