Hunnu Air is a Mongolian scheduled carrier founded in 2011 and headquartered in Ulaanbaatar. It began operations under the name Mongolian Airlines before adopting the Hunnu Air identity in 2013. The privately owned airline should not be confused with MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Mongolia’s state-owned flag carrier, despite the similarity of its former name.
Ulaanbaatar is Hunnu Air’s principal hub and the center of its route network. The airline serves seven destinations across two countries on 12 routes. Flight to the mountains!

Flight of fancy over the desert!
Flight was perfectly punctual (very early morning!). Although small ATR 72 plane, the flight was smooth and well serviced. Nice views of the Gobi enroute. No complaints!

Comfortable, reliable and convenient domestic airline
I travelled from UB to Olgii and back again last week. Hunnu Air contacted me a couple of weeks before I left to tell me that there was a change in the flight time. On the day of the flight, it said to check in 2 hours before- so I did. Everyone else was too,… See more so that's just how it is in Mongolia! The planes left on time, the flight was smooth, the view from the windows beautiful, and there was even a small meal. I read the comments on here before I went and was panicking because I had 18 kg - but they just tell you with a smile- and then calculate how much excess you have to pay- it was about $1.50 US per kg, payable by credit card- so no problem- I had presents for the family I was visiting and lots of winter clothes, and am glad I took them all. I just wanted to let people know that you won't NOT be able to board the plane if you have more than 10kg. Happy travels!

Good flight
Very good flight on this domestic airline frojm Dalanzadgad to UB. Was nervous as it states that checked baggage must not exceed 10 kg. so I had to put all the heavier items into my carry-on. Plane was clean and served a light lunch with drinks for the short… See more flight.

Delayed
We flew on Aug 29. The flight delayed for 2-3 hours and we lost hours to enjoy Ulan Ude and ruined the plans we had. Flight attendants don't allow you change seats even the plane is half empty.
