About Hawaiian Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines traces its history to 1929, when it began operations as Inter-Island Airways. Most ridiculous service ever - use an other airline when you can, even 1 star would be too much
They don’t have a lounge in LA, inflight entertainment in Business/First is not even basic. When you fly from West Coast to Hawaii you have lounge access but don’t expect food. Completely ridiculous. It took me almost 4 months to get a copy of my electronic ticket, it was not automatically sent after the booking process. When you want to contact them via webpage they request a telephone number, but don’t even have Germany in the drop down menu to select country code. It took me more than 15 emails to get my ticket. Don't fly with your dog
We booked our ticket to fly Hawaiian Airlines back in March, when we arrived at the airport in Big Island we were told that they changed their dog carry on policy in June, so that your dogs head can't touch the top of the carrier when sitting up. This is such… See more a ridiculous policy especially as my dog is a 9lb Yorkie. I don't know how small of a dog would fit under the seat except for teacup sized dogs. I used the standard carrier size, which is already larger then needed for my dog, but because his head touched the top of the carrier he was denied access. Eventhough we booked our tickets before the policy and were not informed of the change, they didn't care. We asked for a refund on the spot and was told to call customer service. Customer service told us they couldn't give us a refund eventhough it was there fault and didn't inform us about the policy change. I ended calling the credit card company to help to try to get a refund and had to book another flight from the airport on Southwest Airlines. Lesson learnt. Never fly with Hawaiian airlines ever again. Just stick with Southwest if your in Hawaii. I told Southwest customer service about my issue and they just laughed and said how ridiculous it was for such a small dog to be restricted.

First Class Seat Upgrades Non-Existent
Now even a human cannot put me on a seat upgrade list. The phone app and the website have mysteriously removed any option to get an upgrade.

Do not book Hawaiian Airlines thru Expedia
I booked my Hawaiian vacation to Hawaii thru Expedia and due to having part of my flight home booked with SunCountry we got totally screwed. Terrible Customer Service
I would like to provide a review of a very disappointing, unfortunate unsatisfactory experience that occurred on 5/6/2023. On Friday 5/5/2023 I arrived in San Diego such that I could take Hawaiian Airline directly from San Diego to Honolulu leaving at… See more approximately 800 am and arriving at 1130 am. That Friday evening I received an email that my flight had been cancelled and they said subsequent rebooking information would follow. A new email was received with a new confirmation number and was told to check with the gate agent for final details. I arrived at the airport at approximately 540 am and the gate agent informed me that the flight had been cancelled and there was nothing set up yet for us to get to Honolulu. The gate agent and her supervisor who worked very diligently for over 2 hours came up with a plan that I could UBER to LAX and then fly leaving at 550 pm and arriving in Honolulu at 1030 PM. This arranged itinerary would be a 19 hour travel day that was intended to be a 6 hour direct flight. I would like to mention that an adjacent agent worked with another couple who arrived at the airport 45 minutes after me and was able to secure a flight from San Diego to Honolulu for that same day. As that couple walked away I asked why I didn’t get that flight and was given no response. On my UBER drive from San Diego to Los Angeles I found a Southwest Airlines flight that allowed me to leave LAX at 130 and arrive in Honolulu at 630. After booking this flight I called Hawaiian airlines to cancel the flight that had been arranged that morning which was very inconvenient and not timely nor did it meet mine or my wife’s needs. After being on the phone with an agent for 70 minutes of which the vast majority of the time I was on hold, a supervisor finally got on and informed me that the best they could do was a travel voucher. It has been almost 2 months and I have yet to receive a travel voucher, refund or get any information or communication on how this issue is being handled.

Destroyed my $300 "Indestructible" Luggage
This company absolutely destroyed my luggage. When I arrived in LAX I had a huge dent on my suit case and it was cracked. We arrived at midnight and the luggage claims area was closed. I didn't write a claim until the next day and by then it was apparently out… See more of their 4 hour claim time and they denied my claim. This was after back and forth exchanges for months! I just found the whole experience BS. The flight was cramped, there's no leg room and we even updated. All to have my $300 luggage be destroyed by the airline. I even included photos. Don't fly with them if you don't have to, not worth the head ache or the money. Might as well have payed the extra money to fly Alaska, they give much better service.
