About FlyNamibia
FlyNamibia is the scheduled-passenger brand of Westair Aviation, a privately owned Namibian aviation company founded in 1967. Westair introduced scheduled services under the FlyWestair name in 2019 before adopting the FlyNamibia identity in 2021. South African regional carrier Airlink subsequently acquired a minority interest in the company, supporting closer commercial cooperation while FlyNamibia retained its Namibian identity and operating base.
The airline’s network is centred on Windhoek. Many domestic flights use Eros Airport, which is close to the city centre, while certain regional services operate through Hosea Kutako International Airport. FlyNamibia has linked the capital with Namibian communities including Ondangwa, Rundu, Katima Mulilo, Lüderitz and Oranjemund, as well as selected destinations elsewhere in southern Africa. FlyNamibia’s scheduled operation has primarily used Embraer ERJ 145 regional jets, with smaller aircraft such as the Beechcraft 1900D available within the broader Westair fleet. Passenger flights generally offer a straightforward economy-class product rather than multiple long-haul-style cabins, and both cabin space and onboard amenities are more limited than on larger mainline aircraft.
FlyNamibia is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld. FlyNamibia does not maintain a widely established standalone frequent-flyer programme, so any mileage earning or status recognition depends on the ticketing carrier, fare conditions and applicable partner arrangements.
