About FlyALS
FlyALS is the scheduled passenger brand of ALS Limited, a Kenyan aviation company established in 1985. Based in Nairobi, the wider ALS business has experience in passenger charters, aircraft leasing, humanitarian operations and other specialist flying. FlyALS applies that regional aviation background to bookable services aimed principally at safari, leisure and domestic travellers.
The airline’s main operating base is Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, the city’s principal airport for domestic and safari flights. Its network links Nairobi with wildlife areas including the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, Lewa, Loisaba and Tsavo, as well as Nanyuki and Migori. Coastal services include Diani, served through Ukunda Airport, and Vipingo. Some schedules also provide connections involving destinations in Tanzania.
ALS Limited operates a varied regional fleet that includes Bombardier Dash 8-100, Dash 8-200 and Dash 8-300 turboprops, Beechcraft 1900D aircraft and Cessna 208B Caravans, alongside Embraer ERJ-135 and ERJ-145 regional jets in its broader operation. Aircraft assignments can vary by route and demand. FlyALS services are generally sold as single-cabin regional flights rather than offering separate business- and economy-class cabins.
FlyALS does not belong to Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, and travellers should not expect the reciprocal benefits associated with a global airline alliance. The carrier does not publicise a conventional frequent-flyer programme of its own. Tickets, changes and service requests are therefore handled primarily through FlyALS and its authorised booking channels rather than through an alliance partner’s loyalty system.
FlyALS’s principal strength is the convenience of reaching parks, conservancies and coastal resorts without lengthy road transfers from Nairobi. Wilson Airport is also more convenient than Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for many journeys within the capital. The trade-off is that small-aircraft operations have tighter baggage limits and can be more sensitive to weather, airstrip conditions and operational changes, so flexible onward plans are advisable.
