About Finnair
Finnair is Finland’s flag carrier and one of the world’s longest-established continuously operating airlines. Founded in 1923 as Aero O/Y, it adopted the Finnair name in 1968. The Finnish state remains its majority shareholder, while the company is publicly listed and operates under the Finnair brand from its headquarters in the Helsinki area.
Helsinki Airport is Finnair’s primary hub and the centre of its passenger network. The airline operates 193 routes serving 72 destinations across 35 countries, combining extensive domestic and European coverage with selected long-haul services. Important cities in its network include Stockholm, London, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Geneva, alongside Finnish destinations such as Oulu and Rovaniemi.
Aircraft types associated with Finnair’s operations include Airbus A319, A320 and A321 narrow-body jets, Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft and ATR regional turboprops. What a pathetic service by your airline of such repute. Ideally, the checkin for flights start 3.5-4 hours prior, but I guess you go by other rules which you don’t even mention on your website, during web checkin or your e-ticket. Because it’s an international… See more flight, we reached the airport 3.5 hours prior thinking that the checkin should start anytime now and we will also get ample time to shop from duty free. But, no, it’s been more that an hour that all the passengers have been standing in the queue and the checkin hasn’t even started. hell, there’s not even a single employee of Finnair to keep us updated. Our flight is in 2 hours. With the security checkin and immigration, there won’t be any time left for us in the terminal. The same happened with us from Delhi to Oslo flight. This is so not done. If you claim to be a professional airline, then you guys should better act like one and work on your damn services in a more efficient way. Don’t waste our time like that. It’s really not okay. It’s high time you should treat your clients as your priority and provide quality services to us. We don’t fly with you for free. You charge a hell lot of money from us.

Racist in first Business Class and Finnair allowed it!
Me and my fammily were travelling from Vienna to Helsinki by Finnair this week. We were on the priority line with my son who is 4 years old, husband and elderly parents (my father had a head injuried and was bandaged) waiting on the priority checking line. We… See more were the third passengers in line. Suddenly out of nowhere a man jump on the line in front of us. We asked him what he was doing and he said he had ''priority'' and that he was waiting for long in the line. I understand that ''priority'' also means people who paid more for an early checking but also we had priority because we traveled with a child and sick elderly parents. I asked him to move and he laugh at me, later my husband very politely asked him the same and this man look at him and told him ''shut up!'' The family who was first on the line that saw all asked us to come forward but the second passenger in line didn't want to let us in. In the end we all started arguing because of this man who got in the queue. I started to cry and when we got to the counter my husband told the Finnair attendants what had happened, that this man had jumped the queue and they did nothing about it. What caught our attention very much is that this man did not stand in front of the first passengers nor the second passenger who were all WHITE, but in front of us who are a Hispanic/Indian family in a clear act of racism and discrimination which also Finnair allowed it! Never again!

Pleasant Riga flights
We bought inexpensive round-trip Campaign Light tickets to Riga at 90 euros per person. As Finnair Gold members, we had all the extra perks which normally are not included in Economy Light tickets. The complimentary lounge access was the biggest advantage. The… See more lounge in Riga is an excellent place to wait for your flight. The flights were fully booked. The new superlight concept was not visible anyway. The overhead compartments came full and the last passengers had difficulties to find space. I had anticipated this and checked in our bigger hand baggage. Before Finnair Gold members have been in boarding group 1 on all ATR flights because there is no business class on these flights. Now we were in group 2 as was at least half of the plane. I wouldn't call this priority boarding. On the way back, the flight landed 28 minutes late. The inbound aircraft was changed in Helsinki, probably because of some technical problems.

Average european flight experience from Amsterdam
During my 3 days exhibition visit in Amsterdam, I used mix-flights, where return back to home was Finnair's direct flight from AMS to HEL. Direct flights are my favorites, so it was this time, also. Nice feeling to get back home! Timetables were very suitable… See more for my trip (last day at exhibition, no hurry to get yourself into Airport). Finnair had handy slot & parking place at T1. They didn't seem to have any hurry up, so both passenger and luggage loadings happened at the same time. But it took near half an hour to get all passengers fully seated (which means 6 pax/min, poor result), and all this happened by passenger queuing, WITHOUT social distances (not optimized). As economy class customer, you must pay for meals etc,, so feelings like "those airliners are looking like each others", not so big differences. But flight went well and Cabin Crew was very polite & willing to serve.
