EuroAtlantic Airways
A Portuguese airline based in Lisbon, specialising in long-haul charter, ACMI and wet-lease operations for airlines and tour operators.
About EuroAtlantic Airways
EuroAtlantic Airways is a privately owned Portuguese airline founded in 1993 as Air Zarco. It subsequently operated under the name Air Madeira before adopting the EuroAtlantic Airways identity in 2000. Headquartered in Portugal, the carrier has developed primarily as a provider of aircraft, crews and operational capacity to other airlines, alongside charter flying for tour operators and specialist customers.
Lisbon Airport is EuroAtlantic Airways' principal base, although its operating pattern differs from that of a conventional network airline. Aircraft are frequently assigned to seasonal charters, one-off services or contracts flown on behalf of other carriers. Its work has historically linked Portugal and other European points with destinations in Africa, the Caribbean, North America and South America, but available routes can change substantially between seasons.
The airline is best known for operating wide-body Boeing aircraft, particularly members of the Boeing 767 family, while Boeing 777 equipment has also formed part of its long-haul operation. Cabin layouts and service standards are not necessarily uniform because aircraft may be configured for different contracts. Depending on the flight and customer airline, travellers may encounter economy-only seating or more than one cabin class.
EuroAtlantic Airways is not a member of Star Alliance, SkyTeam or Oneworld, and it does not operate a widely established frequent-flyer programme of its own. On wet-lease services, ticketing, mileage eligibility, baggage rules and passenger support may instead be controlled by the airline whose flight number appears on the booking. Travellers should therefore consult their ticket and the marketing carrier's conditions.
A key strength is EuroAtlantic Airways' ability to supply long-haul aircraft and experienced crews when another airline needs additional capacity, including during seasonal peaks or fleet disruptions. For passengers, the main challenge is that the EuroAtlantic name may appear only at the operating stage, while the booking remains managed by another carrier. Cabin products, onboard amenities and schedules can consequently vary by contract.

Flying with EuroAtlantic Airways — what to expect
Check the Operator
EuroAtlantic frequently flies on behalf of another airline. Your ticket should identify both the marketing carrier and the airline operating the aircraft.
Baggage Rules Vary
The baggage allowance is generally determined by the ticket issuer or charter organiser rather than by a single network-wide EuroAtlantic policy. Confirm both cabin and checked-baggage limits before departure.
Cabins May Differ
Seat layouts, cabin classes and entertainment options can vary between aircraft and operating contracts. Review information supplied by the selling airline for the most relevant details.
Loyalty Credit
EuroAtlantic has no prominent frequent-flyer programme of its own. Mileage credit may still be possible when a partner airline markets the flight, but eligibility depends on its programme and fare rules.
Service Responsibility
For check-in, changes or disruption assistance, begin with the airline or tour operator that issued the ticket. EuroAtlantic may provide the aircraft and crew without managing the commercial booking.

Cramp-A-Lot Airlines
Should have been flying on a Dreamliner with TUI but we were notified two or three weeks prior that we would be flying by Cramp-A-Lot Airlines, A.K.A. Euro Atlantic, this was not good news for a nervous flyer and NOT what we paid for. I couldn't bring myself… See more to read reviews prior, I thought it's best I not know. This was one of the worst flights I had ever been on, it was so unbelievably uncomfortable, no where to put anything (minimal cleaning) I'm sure it would have been more comfortable in an outside seat on the wing! The aircraft looked as if it was held together with duck tape, toilets dreadful, we were delayed (not their fault) but we had a further two hours sitting in our cramped seats. Once we had got going, I had hoped they may be round with water or a drink quite quickly but no of course not. We waited ages for the trolley to come along with offerings of food and drink, this was then another challenge of trying to eat and drink in a tiny space and no where to put anything, table was broken, we weren't kept informed by staff of any flight information what so ever. Then came the landing, lot's of banking on the decent then I couldn't believe it! the plane just slammed down on the tarmac, everyone was very shocked, yelped etc I practically jumped out of my seat, it was awful, I looked at the cabin crew whose facial expression hadn't budged, quite unreal. All I can say is thank goodness I didn't have to endure it again on the way home...

Do not fly on this Crap
Got in from terceira to Oakland, row 31 center family at 4, tv did not work so we add to seat in the back 4 different seats so we could watch a movie , ask for headphones they said they did not add any so only visual no sound, no pillows no blankets , seats… See more dirty, 1 meal one hour after the flight start , next meal was 1h30 before landing was one small Sandwich. On a 10 hour flight we add a 7 hour break no drinks no snack, I went ask for a snack to buy or if they add any because kids , they said they don’t have nothing , the only option was giving them the small sandwich now and later there was nothing. I been flying international 2 times a year I never saw anything like this, poor service , the flight attendant suck also. Was my first time and last with this company, I will NEVER fly again here , if you want to have your own experience enjoy the ride …..

Dire
We booked a Marella/TUI cruise and got an email a few days before departure telling us we are now flying with Euroatlantic. The aircraft was so old it looked like it belonged in an aircraft museum, cramped tiny seats rude disinterested flight attendants, in… See more what can only be described as an attempt to save some face TUI had two of their own crew on the way back TUI could not have found a cheaper option if they had tried I am in the process of cancelling the holiday I booked in December as I simply don’t trust them not no swap flights at the last minute This is NOT what I booked and it its NOT what I paid for

Repatriation flight
As this was a repatriation flight from a cancelled cruise. I personally thought the crew very friendly and helpful. wifi for in flight entertainment was good but alas no ear phones my fault not the airlines in flight meals we were told by ground staff caterers… See more had let them down but we were all fed no alcohol on board which personally I don't think is a bad thing. Coffee tea or soft drinks only had to ask . Well what can I say about my seat well I can honestly say it's the first time ever I've been comfortable enough to sleep on an aircraft perfect .I can't thank the aircrew enough

Should have the entertainment system in order
The flight is quite long for not having the entertainment system in order. The crew is very friendly and the food portions are quite generous. Enjoy!

Friendly crew
A very pleasant flight , friendly crew , good food . The only thing is that the seats have very little legroom and the entertainment is poor .

FAQ
EuroAtlantic Airways — frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the details travellers usually check first, from codes and locations to the practical basics that help with planning.
8 common questions
- There is no single reliably fixed longest route because EuroAtlantic's long-haul programme changes with charter and ACMI contracts. Its Boeing wide-body aircraft can be deployed on intercontinental services between Europe and destinations in Africa or the Americas.
- EuroAtlantic Airways operates changing charter and ACMI assignments rather than a stable, year-round network comparable with a conventional scheduled carrier. Its operations have connected European airports with points in Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas.
- EuroAtlantic Airways is primarily based at Lisbon Airport in Portugal. Many aircraft also operate away from Lisbon while assigned to charter or wet-lease contracts.
- Prices depend heavily on the selling airline, charter organiser, season and route. Compare flexible dates and book outside peak holiday periods where possible, while checking exactly which company controls changes and baggage.
- EuroAtlantic Airways does not publish a dependable fixed destination count because its routes vary with charter programmes and contracts for other airlines. The current schedule should be checked through the airline or tour operator selling the flight.
- Carry-on limits may depend on the airline or tour operator that sold the flight, particularly when EuroAtlantic is operating under a wet lease. Check the baggage conditions printed on your booking rather than relying on a general allowance.
- Lisbon Airport is the carrier's main Portuguese operating base. Other important departure airports vary according to seasonal charters and wet-lease placements.
